I believe it is important to share this information. I don’t know the women personally involved but I think it is terrible what has happened to them. Going out to a nightclub, walking down the street, etc. — none of this should ever make us feel unsafe.

The Barbary HAS released a statement and it is on their Facebook wall. The women involved have also stated that the Barbary has been incredibly helpful and that they are not boycotting the bar. This isn’t about WHERE the incident took place. I personally don’t go to the Barbary, but I’m not going to boycott them nor will I tell anyone else to. What I will do is refuse to associate with people who engage in violent behavior {against both women AND men}. Let’s not focus on the wrong things here. Violence is bullshit.
